Pros And Cons Of Solar Energy-Is It Worth It?

By Daniel Faust

With money being as tight as it is, it seems like it is becoming harder and harder each day to somehow find some extra change lying around. Let's be honest here, we are in a situation where we really need to start saving money. But what is the best way to do that? Some people are starting to learn it is possible to actually cut the cost of your power bill. In this article we will be going over some of the pros and cons of solar energy.

Pros:

1-The solar energy panels do not cause any pollution at all. This means if you are trying to help out the environment solar energy is one of the best ways to do it.

2-If you have ever heard any of the alternative energy sources such as wind turbines you know they can be very loud. The solar panels don't use any type of fuel so they really stay quiet.

3-Laying down high voltage wires can become a bit pricey and hard to do. Laying down solar panels is extremely easy to do.

4-By using solar energy you can get energy at places you normally wouldn't be able to. So if you want to go camping you can generate energy as long as you bring your panel.

5-If you don't know where to put the solar panel you can put it on the top of your room, although this can become very ugly.

6-By using solar energy you will be able to become less dependent on fossil fuel.

Cons:

1-The initial cost of installing a solar panel is extremely expensive. This means that if you need to save a lot of money right away then you should probably not get a solar panel because it will take a while until it actually paid for itself.

2-During the night, you will not be able to generate electricity due to the lack of sunlight. Because of this, you will be able to generate electricity for only half of the day. Also, during bad weather conditions the chances of you generating max electricity are very rare.

3-Air pollution can also have a major effect on the amount of electricity the solar panel will produce. This is because the suns rays will be blocked by the air. Because of this, you may not get enough electricity to generate through your house. - 29939
